Abstract

We report on the demonstration of an InP-on-silicon
electronically tunable DFB laser. 2 nm continuous wavelength tuning is achieved with a single tuning current. Tuning is inherently fast, which makes the laser device an attractive candidate for use in optical packet or burst switching systems
